Terms of Use for ConsumerProposal.ca

This website helps you learn about Canadian debt options. These terms explain its purpose, the limits of its tools and the distinction between reading a guide and obtaining professional advice.

An educational resource

ConsumerProposal.ca is an educational website. The site provides general information for Canadians exploring consumer proposals, bankruptcy alternatives and debt management. These terms describe the launch service as of October 29, 2026.

ConsumerProposal.ca is not a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. We do not file or administer consumer proposals or bankruptcies. Reading content, using a calculator or contacting the publisher does not establish a trustee, legal, lending or financial-adviser relationship.

Make decisions with individual information

Financial and legal outcomes depend on your circumstances and applicable rules. A guide cannot evaluate your income, assets, creditors, legal deadlines or obligations. Check current official guidance and consult an appropriately qualified professional before taking action.

The website does not guarantee eligibility, creditor acceptance, debt forgiveness, asset protection, credit-score improvement or access to future borrowing. A possible reduction described in educational content is not an offer or a prediction of your result.

Contact and referrals

Messages currently go to the website team, not directly to an LIT. A form submission does not book a consultation, begin proceedings, stop collection action or pause a deadline. Any future introduction is subject to the disclosures and agreement described in how referrals work.

Do not submit sensitive financial documents, account credentials or information about someone else without an appropriate basis. The privacy notice explains current data handling.

Sources, external links and availability

We link to sources so you can check the information behind a claim. A link is not an endorsement by that organization or a statement that we are affiliated with it. External providers set their own terms, fees and privacy practices.

We aim to maintain a useful resource, but information can change, errors can occur and tools may be temporarily unavailable. Report a concern to the website team through our contact form. Do not rely on this site as the sole source for an urgent financial or legal decision.

Responsible use

You may use the site to learn and prepare questions. Do not interfere with its operation, submit abusive or automated messages, or misrepresent its content as licensed professional advice. If you wish to republish substantial content or original artwork, contact the website team first.

Clear about our role. ConsumerProposal.ca is an educational publisher, not a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. This page provides general information, not advice for your circumstances. Read our referral disclosure.
