Privacy at ConsumerProposal.ca: Your Information

You can explore the guides and calculator without giving us your contact details. If you choose to send a message, this notice explains the current handling of that information.

Who handles enquiries?

ConsumerProposal.ca is an educational website. Contact-form messages currently go to the website team while intake is being tested. They are not sent directly to a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. This notice describes the website at launch, dated October 29, 2026.

Information you choose to submit

The form collects your name, email address and province or territory. You may also provide a phone number and a message. These details are used to receive, understand and respond to your request. The form’s consent box authorizes that contact; it does not subscribe you to marketing.

Please do not send your SIN, account numbers, banking credentials or financial documents. The form is for an initial enquiry, not a secure document exchange or an insolvency application.

Cookies and technical information

Opening the contact form uses an essential session cookie and a request token to help protect submissions. The contact endpoint also limits repeated requests using short-lived counts associated with a hashed network address. Those counts do not contain your form message.

Hosting and network providers may process normal access information, including IP addresses, requested pages, browser information and timestamps, to deliver and secure the site. This launch implementation does not add advertising pixels or a third-party analytics script.

Email, providers and retention

Form messages pass through the website’s hosting mail service to the website team’s inbox. Hosting and email providers process information as part of operating those services. Email is not a suitable channel for highly sensitive financial documents.

Enquiries may remain in the receiving mailbox and its backups for follow-up and recordkeeping. This launch notice does not promise a fixed automatic deletion period. Contact the website team to ask about the information associated with your request, correction or deletion, including any applicable operational or legal retention needs.

Sharing for an introduction

Submitting the form does not authorize an undisclosed transfer to an LIT. Before a later introduction, we will explain the recipient, relevant relationship and details proposed for sharing, and seek your agreement. You can choose to contact a professional directly instead.

External links lead to websites with their own privacy practices. Read those notices before submitting information on another site.

Privacy questions and corrections

Use our contact form to ask about access to your submitted details, correct information, withdraw an uncompleted introduction request or raise a privacy concern. Give enough context to identify the enquiry without sending additional sensitive information. We may need to confirm your identity before providing personal information.

Clear about our role. ConsumerProposal.ca is an educational publisher, not a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. This page provides general information, not advice for your circumstances. Read our referral disclosure.
